My primary purpose in investing was to expand my mobility tool kit. There are actions/exercises I have used in the past, but you get bored with the same old thing. You always have new tips and tools for improving overall mobility and I like that!

I really wasn't dealing with any pain or activities that I couldn't do. But I do have a much better range of motion in my hips than before.

I really like the follow along videos. I just play those and follow along to do the workout for the day. Being able to see and follow along is MUCH easier than trying to read a description or look at static images and figure out how a movement is supposed to be done.

How Precision Movement Can Help You...

I was at the Toronto Airshow with my almost 3 year old daughter when I was hit - SMACK - right in the face with the perfect way to describe what’s behind the Precision Movement approach.

Livia and I were sitting on a stretch of sandy shoreline on Lake Ontario in my hometown of Toronto, snacking on grapes and strawberries while watching the planes zoom by.

The first few planes we saw were fighter jets of some type, ripping around super fast doing loops and circles and shaking the ground when they flew overhead.

Then, the famous Canadian Snowbirds took flight and it was amazing to see them do all kinds of loops and tricks at speeds anywhere from 200 to 600 km/h while staying in perfect formation.

That’s when I was hit with the perfect metaphor for the Precision Movement approach…

When you have a muscle that contributes to a particular movement that’s out of sync with the rest, while not as catastrophic as planes crashing into each other mid-air, damaging effects will occur. It’s not a matter of if, but when.

Over time the end result can look like chronic, nagging pains where you’re not sure how they started, or tightness and mobility or movement restrictions that aren’t alleviated with conventional stretching and exercises.

At Precision Movement, this is exactly how we see the body - as an interconnected system where if one joint or muscle isn’t functioning correctly, it will come up with another way to perform the task at hand.

For example, it can recruit other muscles to make up for one that’s not doing its job, or get range of motion from another joint if the primary joint’s range is restricted.

This is called a compensation and over time, compensations layer on top of each other and when pain or an injury finally occurs, the actual site of the pain or injury may not be where the root cause of the problem is.

That’s why our approach includes restoring function of ALL the joints and muscles in your body instead of focusing on the site of the problem, which would be treating the symptoms and not the root cause.

Our approach is two-fold:

FIRST, we’ll educate you on the fundamentals of Kinesiology so you understand and can describe your body and movement using accurate, scientific terminology.

This will help you execute exercises and techniques with greater skill since you’ll understand exactly what you’re trying to accomplish.

SECOND, we’ll give you the exercises, techniques and programs to take you from where you are to where you want to go and deliver them in an easy-to-follow format that doesn’t require you to spend all day in the gym.

So whether you’re a gym-rat, CrossFitter, martial artist, golfer or other recreational or competitive athlete or you simply want to freely move through the activities of daily life with ease, we’re here to help you do these things and do them better.
